The Brooklin Pottery Co-op, Brooklin, Maine
Bunny Gorski & Jane Story
I work out of the Brooklin Pottery Co-op which is located in the small Maine town of Brooklin. The Co-op was established in 2003 by Bunny Gorski and myself (pictured at left). We started out on a shoestring learning as we went along, gathering advice from those more learned in the art of clay than we. The entire process has been fun even on those frustrating days. We have come a long way from being hobbyists to our current professional level of work.
A portion of our wares
Along the way we have opened the Co-op to other potters and presently there are five of us working using the space. None of us are production potters. We spend far more time experimenting and trying new techniques. That, of course, often leads to some unusual creations. Sometimes, if you listen carefully, you will hear a muttered, "What on earth was I thinking?!" Other times you will hear a simple "WOW," which says it all!
Our kiln dressed up for Fall
We have a display area which you can see above. The Co-op is open to customers Friday and, Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 4:00 P.M during the summer and fall months. Other days and times we're open by chance. If you want to make sure call ahead -- 207-374-5248 and we'll make arrangements.
